Bucharest, November, 2013. The law firm McGregor & Partners, represented by Neil McGregor, Managing Partner, participates on Saturday, for the 16th consecutive year to the Caledonian Ball, one of the most elegant balls organised in Bucharest.
Member of the Scottish community, one of the founders of the ball and Master of Ceremonies for five years, Neil McGregor declared:”It is a special event, full of elegance, which by dance and good spirit supports the Foundation Light into Europe, the only organisation developing programmes to help children with hearing and sight difficulties. I am delighted to be one of the founding members of this event, and that the Caledonian Ball, besides the humanitarian cause it supports, has been for 16 years an opportunity for the business representatives in Romania to meet.”
The Caledonian Ball in Bucharest is one of the hundreds of such events taking place around the world celebrating St. Andrew’s Day and the Scottish culture. The first such event took place in 1840 and was organised by the Duke and Duchess of Atholl for their friends from Scotland who lived in London. This year, over 150 representatives of the business environment of one of the most important companies in Romania, diplomats from the Scottish community and not only have gathered together to support the Light into Europe Foundation.
