Bucharest, 13 February 2014. For the law firm McGregor & Partners 2013 was a year of change which proved to augur well as it helped them to develop and to extend their practice fields and implicitly, the client portfolio.
The amendments brought to the support scheme of renewable energy, lifting the restrictions applied to Romanians working in the UK, as well as the improvement of the economic situation, meant for McGregor & Partners as many reasons to invest more time and effort for attracting new clients from other areas of activity.
„2013 meant for us a year of opportunities. The changes happened last year have determined us to take the strategic decision to develop towards other fields: conventional energy, especially oil and gas and generally the natural resources. We have succeeded therefore to extend the energy zone after many years in which we have focused on renewable energy. Also, even though McGregor & Partners is recognized for its experience in the field of transactions, last year we succeeded to develop our practice area towards the one of litigations. We would like to mention, among others, representing an international bank regarding the maritime transportation legislation and the recovery of an important claim resulted from the sale of a ship, the mortgage in favor of the bank; assisting an international transport and logistics company and its agency in Romania in the recovery of its road trailers from a former sub-contracting party, in many locations within Europe; assisting an international maritime transportation company in an emergency situation: the arresting of one of its ships”, declared Neil McGregor, Managing Partner of McGregor & Partners.
Among the new clients of McGregor & Partners there is a Canadian company producing nuclear fuel, a Swiss company supplier of energy and one of the world leaders in the field of oil industry services.
„We expect 2014 to be a better year than the last one. We are optimistic regarding the development of clients’ portfolio. Also, I would like to mention that even though 2013 meant the development towards other areas of practice besides the renewable energy, this remained an important area in McGregor & Partners” portfolio, concluded Neil McGregor.
